From our passage in Acts 3, we’re going to begin to look at one of the miracles of the apostles, the healing of a man who had been lame from birth. And how the Holy Spirit used that moment to help even more people experience a much greater healing: the healing of their hearts through the power of Jesus!

In Acts 2:42–47, we look at the second half of what the Holy Spirit helped the brand-new believers in Jerusalem focus on: learning to center their lives on Jesus—sharing meals, remembering His sacrifice, and praying together to their Father in Heaven. As they did, the Holy Spirit worked through them to help others discover the life of Jesus too—just like He does with us!

In Acts 2:42–47, we get to see the birth of the church—a group of people who were given the presence of the Holy Spirit and His power to follow Jesus and to share the good news of Jesus with those around them. This is where the story of the church begins!

In our passage for today, we get to see something amazing: the fullness of God’s grace and mercy as He makes sure that the very people who put His Son to death are the first ones to hear and receive the good news of the Gospel—the first ones to receive the life that Jesus His Son gave His life for!

As Peter continues to explain what has happened at Pentecost, he uses two of David's Psalms to reveal the identity of the "Lord" that Joel prophesied about. Today we will see how the Holy Spirit makes it clear that the crucified, risen, and exalted Jesus is Lord and Christ, the one we must all call on to be saved!

The people who saw Pentecost asked, "What does this mean?" Peter, moved by the Holy Spirit, reveals that a prophecy from Joel was being fulfilled that day. A new age in history has begun: an age that we are part of: and along with that, a promise of hope for all who call upon the name of the Lord!

At Pentecost, the Holy Spirit arrived with power! Wind, fire, and languages showed God’s presence as He began His harvest of souls. How did those who saw it respond? How do WE respond when we see God's presence in our lives?

In today's passage, the disciples face a big decision: replacing Judas. How do people who follow Jesus make decisions? Through His Word, prayer, and the Holy Spirit’s leading. Let's learn how this applies to our lives today.

After Jesus ascended, the disciples returned to Jerusalem to wait for His promise. Today we will see how they worshipped with joy, prayed together, and lived with one accord. Waiting in expectation means trusting His word with hope.

In Acts 1:9 Jesus ascends to His throne as the risen King. He now reigns over all, intercedes for us, and promises to return. The ascension is not the end of His story—it’s the beginning of His reign.

Acts is not only the story of the early church — it’s our story too. In Acts 1:1–8, Jesus prepares His disciples to be His witnesses and promises the Holy Spirit to give them power for the mission — the same Spirit who empowers us today.
